Dedicated domestic abuse / violence services operating around Ireland

 

Mid-West VAW LAN

The Mid-West Local Area Network on Violence against Women is a regional collaboration between three local area networks – Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary. These local networks are multi-agency fora made up of representatives from statutory, community and voluntary organisations who come together to promote a coordinated approach to tackling violence against women in the Mid-West region.

 

SAFE Ireland

SAFE Ireland is the national representative body for women’s frontline domestic violence services in Ireland. Their 40 member organisations provide a range of services and supports to women and their children experiencing or at risk from domestic violence. The majority of member organisations also lobby and advocate for societal change in relation to state and community responses to women at risk of violence. ADAPT Domestic Abuse Services is a member of SAFE Ireland.

 

Rape Crisis Network Ireland

Rape Crisis Network Ireland (RCNI) is a specialist information and resource centre on rape and sexual violence. The RCNI are the representative, umbrella body for member Rape Crisis Centres who provide free advice, counselling and support for survivors of sexual abuse in Ireland.

 

National Domestic Violence Helpline operated by Women’s Aid

The Women's Aid National Freephone Helpline (1800 341 900) operates from 10am to 10pm, every day of the year (except Christmas day), and provides support and information to callers experiencing abuse from intimate partners.

One in Four

One in Four supports men and women who have experienced sexual violence, many of them during childhood.  Their aim is to reduce the incidence of sexual abuse by intervening in key areas of the cycle of abuse. They do this through psychotherapy, advocacy and prevention services.
